So to resume blogging after a bit of a hiatus while we started the new baby room and I sorted out the latest pregnancy complaints now that the end is drawing near...we got some much better pics of our day with reptiles from our friends Jack and Kelly.

Python...
So today Mack and I had a reptile workshop where he met all sorts of reptilian creatures....I did not get many pics, but hopefully some of our other mommy friends did and will share so I can share more. He was very into the python however....
It was about 8 feet long and a beautiful pale yellow! And how cool he got to touch and feel all of the creatures! He was tentative, but did it! By the time we got to the python...he was all over it.
Here he is with one of the other reptiles....much much smaller.

Heeeeeeeeeerrrrrrre's Maverick!
So for some unknown reason, Mack started channeling Johnny Carson a la The Tonight Show yesterday during baby class....I can hear the theme music now....da, da, ta, da-da......
And Ed McMahon....Heeeeeeeeeeeeer's Maverick!!!!!!!
Applause, applause, applause.....
That wicked little twinkle in his eye....

The Bunny has Landed...
So, Maverick participated in his first Easter where he had an idea of what was going on....sort of. I had his basket set up for him to see when we came out in the morning....he said..."Oh wow!!!!" when he saw it all set up. Unfortunately I was efficient and had the camera in the living room, not in the bedroom to be ready when he saw it....but it was so cute. He made a beeline for the basket and the balloons and started babbling up a storm....telling me all about it. I heard a bunch of "this" and "that", but I am not sure what else he was saying...but it seemed to all be good with him.
I "hid" a few eggs around the room filled with assorted small toys, organic cheese bunny crackers, raisins, yogurt covered raisins, about 15 MnM's and 1 small pkg of smarties. These provided entertainment all day. I also had a hard boiled egg, nutrigrain bar and apple in his Easter basket...I was pretty sure this basket was as close to breakfast as we were going to get, so I tried to get some protein and fruit in there.
Upon first arriving to the basket...he busted open an egg and found some of the bunny crackers...this is his "mmmmmmmm......" face. Today was his first raisin experience...he is not a fan. But he liked the sugary yogurt covered ones....so whatever. You can see the cast aside apple over his right shoulder...it pretty much sat there neglected all day.
More basket exploring...this took most of the morning to get through because as he took out each item he spent quite some time playing with it before returning to the basket for a new item. He was very methodical about it.
It appears the Easter Bunny also left this in the yard....the second he saw it...he squealed with curiosity and made a beeline to it and immediately started trying to get up...
He loved the slide out of it. Unfortunately he needs mommy to get him back up and into it...but we did that a few dozen (ugh!) times....he loved it...the following is his preferred technique...
When my back had enough, we went back in where he toted his basket and his balloons around with him pretty much wherever he went for the rest of the day which also explains the hundreds of shreds of Easter Grass scattered about the house.

The process...
So in our attempt to get this years perfect Easter photo....Mack was the very obedient little model....initially...
He wistfully held the eggs....sat so pretty by the basket....and then it took a turn...
If you look closely you can see the onery little twinkle in his eye as he removes all his eggs from the basket..
He was quite proud of his accomplishment...
The little punk...thought he was so funny...
Personally, I think it was payback for making him wear the bunny suit...

Eggs! Eggs! Eggs!
So, 4 hours and 4 recovery programs later, I was able to salvage some of our egg dyeing photos from this morning. I am tired but grateful that I got them back, so it is going to be quick...but we had a fantastic time. He got it much more than I expected him to. I was fully admitting we were dyeing eggs for me.... I think he did darn good for a 14 month old....he was all about spiking the eggs into the cup of dye and had no use for the little copper dipper....hands were much more effective. It was a little messy but oh so fun! More tomorrow....after sleep....
The finished product!!!
