Mack's first Car-Jack-ing

What is it with these boys and their cars? Obviously it is something I will have to learn to understand. But Mack and Jack have this car thing. Usually Jack does all the driving and Mack is content to ride along. However, Maverick is a bit territorial about his truck. He doesn't really know how to move it yet...other than in reverse...but he does know that he does not like anyone else in it at all.

So recently when had our 1 year party to celebrate our weekly Friday baby class and Mack and Jack were again enjoying Maverick's truck...all was good....Mack in the cab....Jack in the bed...harmony....ebony and ivory...but then...

Jack decided he wanted to be in the cab with Mack...never mind it is a cab meant for one...even one of the small variety...Obviously Jack had not read that one-person-in-the-cab-at-a-time-memo so he started coming in through the rear window from the bed of the truck.

It took him a little bit but eventually, he got one foot in...

And Mack sensing the Jack invasion...quickly sat down to claim his spot....but Jack was not to be deterred from his mission...




He pushed on in...Mack is trying to figure out what is going on...Jack is very determined. Note the friendly elbow-to-the-side-of-the-head maneuver Jack is working...

The kid is definitely determined and I think his parents must let him watch the WWF on tv. (just kidding Kelly!!)

He almost has it....just a little bit further...
























Whew! Finally- he was in!!! ...however....

Mack was not pleased and did not hesitate to call out for assistance...LOUDLY.

Jack quickly found himself evicted from the truck...ultimately his first car-Jack-ing attempt was unsuccessful.






















Mack was very pleased with the results...or so it appeared...because even as Mack won the first round...






Where were they 5 minutes later? Boys and their cars...I have a lot to learn...

And not to imply that my precious Maverick was the total innocent in all of this...check out what happened next...

It appears Mack kneed Jack and threw him under the bus...literally...or truck as it were...I am a bit concerned how Maverick looks so nonchalant...as his poor buddy struggles under the car...at least he could have offered him a hand or something!

But don't worry no children were harmed in any of these incidents. Hopefully these events are not indicative of their plans for a future life of crime...but I am a bit worried for when they get their "real" drivers licenses...I am not sure the streets will be safe.
